It's About Time!

It's about time that I write my first entry in this blog. We are living in tumultuous times and it's important to document what is happening in this country of ours. This country is more divided than it has been in decades. It is time for us to be aware of what is happening around us and doing our part to improve our land for us, our children, and our children's children. We are under a new president, a progressive president, at the time when our new century is being defined. It is time to head into the future and not to look back on the past - except to learn from it. The most current news these days is that people have been protesting the idea of a tax increase via "tea party". Oh how cute, "The Boston Tea Party!" The taxation that was happening then was very different of the taxation that will be going on now. England was taking advantage of the settlers here who were doing just that, trying to get settled. Today, however, this country is in need of a serious overhall! There is a small percentage of the population that is hogging all of the wealth and a much larger percentage going without basic needs like healthcare. Rich people can live without buying that extra $40,000 dress or buying their $50 hamburger each week to help that poor mother or father that can't take care of their children because they are not well due to the lack of medical attention that they need! If they do get that medical attention they are now up to their eyeballs in debt and now they can't pay their regular bills resulting in bigger problems for their family. Many of the people who are protesting tax increases are not even the people who are going to be negatively affected by them. In fact, 95% of all Americans will be better off because of this tax reform! So it's time that people start getting informed, especially before they make fools of themselves, and start moving forward into the new cenury!
